I had been browsing the dresses of YT since the beginning of football season. They contacted <a href="http://www.seashellsandsouthernbelles.blogspot.com/">Jana</a> and I through our football blog, <a href="http://www.thebellesofsaturday.blogspot.com/">The Belles of Saturday</a>. They sent each of us a dress of our choosing to review.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">YT is a completely family (mother-daughter) run business with the help of family friends. They specialize in simple yet stylish gameday dresses. By simple, I mean they feature no frill dresses that are made special through accessorizing. Making your dress "Yours Truly." Their dresses are versatile and wearable from September to November. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">I chose the <a href="https://ytclothing.com/shop/lindsay_dress/">Lindsay Dress</a> in garnet. I was unsure on the size (I have to try everything on), and expressed this concern to Katie. Her response - I will just send you two sizes and you can see which fits better. Talk about customer service! You don't get that kind of service from big retailers.<br />
<br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">My package from YT complete with garnet and black ribbon.</td></tr>
</tbody></table>The attention to detail in the packaging shows the love and passion YT has for their company. I also received a braided <a href="http://ytclothing.com/about/giving_back/3_cords_for_haiti/">3 Cords</a> handband. The proceeds from a purchase of a 3 Cord handband goes to employee women in Haiti.<br />
<br />
I wore my dress to the South Carolina-Florida game two weeks ago. I had shared with a few of my friends that I had been given a dress to review, and they were equally excited to see it. The day was gorgeous, but there was slight chill in the air. I paired my garnet dress with black tights and cowboy boots. The dress had three-quarter sleeves, so I only needed by jacket in the morning and late afternoon. The dress is so comfortable and easy to move around in. The material is the perfect weight that I would definitely wear it early or late in the season. I received many compliments on the dress.<br />

My friends and I hosted a tailgate shower for a sorority sister of mine that is getting married in January. We each brought a tailgate dish and the recipe as our "gift." Since the game was a noon kickoff, we had a variety of food - breakfast, lunch, and desserts. And, lots of mimosa!<br />

Georgia was playing Auburn that day, and Carolina needed Auburn to beat Georgia to make it back to Atlanta for the SEC Championship game. And, the reason was not Halloween. It was for the annual Halloween weekend match-up between South Carolina-Tennessee. About half of my friends in Charleston have ties to East Tennessee. They either went to the University of Tennessee or hail from Knoxville, Kingsport, or Chattanooga.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">In combination with the game, three of my friends that we going to be in Knoxville were celebrating their birthdays. Additionally, <a href="http://www.homemadewinemusic.com/">Homemade Wine</a> had their hometown release party for their new CD. My excitement level the week of the trip was uncontainable.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Elizabeth, Nate, Luke, and I loaded up in my car on Thursday to make the six hour drive from Charleston to Knoxville. Nate grew up in Knoxville, and Luke attended UT.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;">After arriving in Knoxville a little after 7:00, Nate briefly showed Elizabeth and I around campus and downtown Knoxville. {Luke had dinner plans with his girlfriend} As soon as I spotted the <a href="http://www.mastgeneralstore.com/">Mast General Store</a> on Gay Street, I had to go in and get some candy. I have a great picture of the massive candy aisle but for some reason it would not upload. Fail. Following my brief return to being a kid in a candy store, we continued down Gay Street and had dinner at <a href="http://www.downtownbrewery.com/">Downtown Grill and Brewery</a>. The brewery was an ideal place for dinner. They had $2 speciality drafts and the food was delicious. The atmosphere was fun and lively for a Thursday night.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: left;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: lime;">I'm loving</span> this weekend's activities! My parents graduated from there, as well. And, my sister is a Junior, now. Therefore, Homecoming is a big deal for my family and friends. My classmates were more like family than friends. My friend Chelsey is having a pleasant plantation wedding in Beaufort.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />

I saw it last night with a group of friend's at <a href="http://cinebarre.com/">Cinebarre</a> for $5. I was somewhat surprised to see a bunch of twenty somethings in the theatre. This time was way better not only because it was in 3D but because I was able to sing-a-long with all the songs. Yes, I own several Disney movie soundtracks and they are on my ipod.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />

And, I lost my best friend and big "brother." {see <a href="http://scsoulshine.blogspot.com/2011/03/who-youd-be-today.html">here</a>}</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

</div>It remember every emotion of that day like it was yesterday. I have replayed the entire weekend in my head over the last few days. A few friends and I had just finished dinner and were heading to Moe's Downtown to have a few drinks and watch the football game. I had just sat down when my mom called me. The first thing she asked me was, "Where are you? And, are you with someone?" I told her of course I was with someone; I wasn't out by myself. I then realized by her tone that she was not calling just to check in. She was calling to tell me that Justin had suffered heart attack.<br />
<br />
Justin had <a href="http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0001984/">Kawaski Disease</a> as a child. He had a stint put in when he was twelve years old. The doctors believe his stint was jarred and moved out of place when he slide into third during a church league softball game. Over the next three days, our family and friends gathered at the MUSC in Charleston. We prayed, paced, prayed a lot more, comforted, paced some more, and prayed again. We <i>knew</i> God would not take this person away from us.<br />
<br />
As Sunday evening approached, there was only a few of us left at the hospital since many people had to return home for work the next day. It was almost 10:00, so I decided to head home {about five minutes away} myself since I had class in the morning. My dad was going to stay the hospital a little while longer and would call when he left. I did not pull into my driveway good before my dad called me and told me to come back to the hospital. At that moment, I did not want to think about it. It could only be a good reason I was coming back, <i>right</i>? I <u>would</u> not let myself think it. Not until I walked off the elevator into the waiting room did I let myself realize that my best friend was gone.<br />
<br />
A little bit of me still wonders "Why?" And, I believe I always will; it is natural. Looking back now, I realize that we were <i>so very</i> lucky to have him in our lives for as long as we did. Justin was the kindest, most genuine person I knew. He was never seen without a huge smile on his face and was the first person to make sure you had one on your face, as well. Always the jokester. He loved the Gamecocks and the Bravos more than anything in this world. Well, other than his fiance, family, and friends. My heart still aches when I think about how much he has missed seeing and how much I have not been able to personally share with him.<br />
<br />
I can't watch a Will Ferrell movie without thinking of Jus. Many of my favorite memories from college include Jus. Some of my fondest childhood memories involve our families. I think of all the advice he gave me and how protective he was of me. Looking back, I can't help but <b>smile</b> and tear up occasionally.<br />
<br />
I leave you with one of the best pictures I have that truly captures Justin's out-going, fun loving personality. Yes, this was during a themed party in college.<br />

Today started with me and our social committee chair looking at locations for Barrister's Ball followed by an all day editing session for law review. I grabbed dinner with a close friend from college, and we, of course, chatted for hours afterwards.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Anywho, I am home now and settling in for my weekend of doing nothing but watching football! Whoot! Y'all know I love football and everything that comes with it. I mean I started a <a href="http://www.thebellesofsaturday.blogspot.com/">blog</a> solely dedicated to it. But, I am not sure y'all understand how much it is a part of my life. I speak of future weeks plans in terms of football. "Oh, the weekend of the Kentucky game, I have a conference for school." I know those dates, but I don't speak in terms of dates. I speak in terms of who South Carolina is playing. I have our schedule and some other team's schedules memorized. When I look back on college, I will say "That happened the week of the Georgia game." And, lets be real. Please don't plan your wedding in the fall, unless you want me to be checking my phone constantly for game updates. It is like an unwritten rule in the South.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Tomorrow, I plan on watching football all day. This is one of the first weekend's I had no plans since July. I am really looking forward to getting some work done this weekend and relax.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;">A little bit of me wants to be in attendance of our home opener against Navy, but I know my body needs a weekend to wind down. This week's theme for <a href="http://www.longdistanceloving.net/2011/09/fridays-fancies-42.html">Friday's Fancies</a> is Gameday chic. </div><div style="text-align: center;">Many of you probably had to memorize the Preamble at some time during your elementary education. I know I did. I wish I had kept count of the number of times I have read the Constitution for various classes. I have taken four Constitutional law classes - two in college and two in law school.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Shouldn't we give Constitution Day the same respect we give Independence Day? Without the Constitution, we would not be afforded those inalienable rights. Without the Constitution, we would not be afforded the ability to pursue Life, Liberty, and Happiness. On September 17, 1787, the supreme law of the land was signed and has stood the test of time and interpretation. In 224 years, the Constitution has only been amended twenty-seven times.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">I want to share some of my favorite Amendments to the Constitution.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>1st Amendment</b> {1791}</div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>Freedom of Religion, Speech, & Press</i></div><div style="text-align: center;">No brainer, right?</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>2nd Amendment</b> {1791}</div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>Right to Bear Arms</i></div><div style="text-align: center;">This one has raised some controversy in recent years. I am firm supporter of our 2nd Amendment rights. When you take guns from law-abiding citizens, only those members of citizen wanting to commit crimes will have guns. How does the law-abiding citizen protect himself or herself? I know my up-bringing has something to do with it. I come from a family of hunters. I shot a gun before I was ten. My sister and I were taught gun safety at a young age. Yes, I do own a gun, so don't break-in my house.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>4th Amendment</b> {1791}</div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>Protection Against Unreasonable Search & Seizure</i></div><div style="text-align: center;">Officers must have a warrant supported by probable cause and signed by a neutral party before they can search your home. It is a check on government's power and a protection of privacy.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>5th Amendment </b>{1791}</div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>Protection Against Self-Incrimination</i></div><div style="text-align: center;">A defendant does not have to take the stand in his own criminal trial. In 1966, the Supreme Court decided the landmark case<i> </i><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miranda_v._Arizona" style="font-style: italic;">Miranda v. Arizona</a>. <i>Miranda</i> warnings were formulated following that decision to protect the criminally accused.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>8th Amendment </b>{1791}</div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>Bar Against Cruel & Unusual Punishment</i></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>13th Amendment</b> {1865}</div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>Abolishment of Slavery</i></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>14th Amendment</b> {1868}</div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>No Citizen Shall be Denied Equal Protection of the Laws</i></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>15th Amendment</b> {1870}</div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>Voting Rights</i></div><div style="text-align: center;">No citizen shall be denied the right to vote based on previous servitude, race, creed, or color.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>16th Amendment </b>{1913}</div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>Income Taxes</i></div><div style="text-align: center;">This is not because I like taxes, but because of the IRS and Internal Revenue Code, I will have a career.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>19th Amendment</b> {1920}</div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>Women's Suffrage</i></div><div style="text-align: center;">After 113 years, women are finally given the right to participate in the political process. You best believe I would have stood right beside Susan B. Anthony to fight for this right.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>21st Amendment</b> {1933}</div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>Repealing 18th Amendment</i></div><div style="text-align: center;">Let the spirits flow! Prohibition is over! Though, how fun would it have been to sip on cocktails in a real speakeasy?</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>24th Amendment</b> {1964}</div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>No Poll Tax</i></div><div style="text-align: center;">Part of the Voting Rights Acts of 1964, this amendment prohibited a tax to vote.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>26th Amendment</b> {1971}</div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>Voting Age is 18</i></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i><br />
</i></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>What are some of your favorite Amendments?</b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><br />

This is not my normal destination on a Saturday, but a bunch of my friends from Charleston were going so I decided to go, too. Clemson played a small in-state college, Wofford. I have several friends who went there and go there, so I knew I would see a few friends that I don't get to see that often. It was a fun weekend complete with a midnight booze cruise on Lake Hartwell.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Typically, orange does not fall in my color wheel {a la Leigh Anne Tuohy} on Gameday. In efforts to be a good friend and a good fan, I wore a dress from <a href="http://www.vestique.com/">Vestique</a> that was not overly orange. I proudly wore my <span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #990000;">Beat Georgia</span> button.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;">Today, I am linking up with <a href="http://www.thebellesofsaturday.blogspot.com/">The Belles</a> with their Gameday link-up. Head over and share how you celebrated Gameday. Did you make it to the game? Or did you stay at home and have friend over to watch the game? What was on your menu? Let us know!<br />
<br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #990000;">Gamecocks </span>are victorious in Week 1. <br />
It was rocky at first, but we got underway when we put in our veteran quarterback. The reasons for which our fifth-year quarterback was not starting is worth a whole blog of its own. <br />
Charlotte was good to me. We made it to only one bar, <a href="http://www.macphersonspub.com/Main/Home.aspx">Molly MacPherson's</a>, to celebrate after the game. One bar was enough for me; I was pooped after tailgating most of the day in unbelievable heat. I didn't get to Sandstorm at all during the weekend - the only downside of playing at a neutral site.<br />
Bring on the Dawgs!<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div>I got to briefly see Jake before the game prior to him having to report to the team. Jake tore his ACL this past spring during a scrimmage. He is undergoing rehab this season. Teams are only allowed to bring so many players for away games. Since this game was not a conference game, he was able to dress in his jersey and stand on the sideline.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

</tbody></table>During the game, the lady in front of me told me to put my shakers down, because I shaking it too much and cheering too often. NO ma'am, I will not {in the politest way possible}. Lady, you are at a football game! If you don't want people yelling, cheering, shaking pom-poms, twirling towels, and the like around you, then you need to either A) stay at the tailgate or B) stay home. Might I add, this was right after we scored a touchdown. Everyone is going crazy, chica. Get over yourself!<br />
<br />
How did everyone's teams do this weekend? I hope everyone enjoyed their last official weekend of summer. I have soaked up every bit of my five-day weekend...I don't have class on Fridays and my Thursday class got cancelled. Yes, I have a short week in front of me. I think I can already see Friday and the weekend to come.<br />

</tbody></table><div style="text-align: center;">After a long offseason, my favorite time of the year has arrived. The road<i> back</i> to <a href="http://www.secdigitalnetwork.com/SECSPORTS/SPORTS/2010FootballChampionship.aspx">Atlanta</a> and the road to <a href="http://www.allstatesugarbowl.org/site.php">New Orleans</a> {either for the Sugar Bowl or the BCS Championship, I will happily take one or the other} start now!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">With a wealth of talent on both sides of the ball, Carolina is expected to have a record breaking year. I cannot describe how excited I am. I have been a Carolina fan all my life and witnessed our 1-21 run in 1998 and 1999. I was there when we began to turn the corner in 2000 under Lou Holtz with back-to-back victories in the Outback Bowl. I was there for both. I there for our first victory over Florida since WWII. I have seen us start out 6-0, only to pluck off six straight losses. I am not the fair-weathered fan, yet I am realistic. I fully believe we can pull off an SEC Championship this season. We will see. Win or lose, it will be exciting to watch.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

On the other, college football starts tonight! I am currently sitting by the pool. True story. Yet, I am ready for the leaves to change colors and crisp mornings to greet me when I leave the house. It will remain "summer" here until at least October. I want to hold on to this summer forever, it will be my last until retirement. Though all the pictures on <a href="http://www.pinterest.com/">Pinterest</a> of pumpkins, apple cider, and warm colors make me want the holiday season to hurry on up.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;">Well, it has been a busy week and a half, and it will not slow down until Monday. The same day <a href="http://www.seashellsandsouthernbelles.blogspot.com/">Jana</a> and I launched <a href="http://www.thebellesofsaturday.blogspot.com/">The Belles of Saturday</a>, I started classes for my third year of law school. I have been adjusting to my new schedule and classes. Last weekend, I was out of town for a school retreat. This week has been about the same with several back to school meetings and so forth. I will be in back in full force after today. Let me give you a run down of my schedule...</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Mondays & Wednesdays:</div><div style="text-align: center;">9:00-10:20 - Secured Transactions</div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>It is all about borrowing money from a creditor with a item of collateral attached to ensure the loan in case the debtor defaults.</i></div><div style="text-align: center;">10:30-11:50 - Civil Tax Procedure</div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>What to do when a client gets audited by the IRS and how to obtain a withheld tax return.</i></div><div style="text-align: center;">1:30-2:50 - Commercial Law</div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>Contracts for the sale of goods. A good is anything that is moveable at the time of the contract.</i></div><div style="text-align: center;">6:10-7:30 - Elder Law</div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>The rights of the elderly - employment discrimination, health-care, estate planning, & nursing home care</i></div><div style="text-align: center;">I am tired just reading it. All I want to do when I get out of class is go crawl in by bed - which I usually do.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Tuesdays & Thursdays</div><div style="text-align: center;">1:30-2:50 - Estate Planning</div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>Making sure your client's monies go where they what them to go when they pass away. Also, attempting to avoid the federal estate tax.</i></div><div style="text-align: center;">No these days are not bad, but since I have a full load on M/W, I am preparing for those classes on T/Th.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">This quote was the <a href="http://www.realsimple.com/">Real Simple</a> Thought of the Day earlier this week, and I thought it was very fitting for me these past two weeks.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

It bittersweet to see this part of my life coming to end this year. I have had an amazing journey thus far, and I am looking forward to this year. From my schedule, you can see I am not taking the easy way out for my final year. I am taking the classes I am interested in, even though, they may be tougher.</span></span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="background-color: white; color: #333333;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;"><br />

She is the winningest coach, male or female, in college basketball and she is also a fellow sister in <a href="http://www.chiomega.com/">Chi Omega</a>. I hate to see any mind be lost, but a mind like Pat Summit's is something that does not come around often. </div><div style="text-align: center;">I am sure for many of you outside of SC Hootie is no longer on your radar or might have never been on your radar. Hootie was in their prime 15 years ago and they are playing two sold-out concerts this weekend. We love our hometown band. The members of Hootie met in The Towers (a set of dorms at USC...may they rest in peace) during their freshman year of college. And, the rest is 90s jam band history.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

I remember heading to the beach on Hilton Head and jamming to<i> </i><a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oFLysouG86I&ob=av2n" style="font-style: italic;">Time</a>, <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1aVHLL5egRY&ob=av2e" style="font-style: italic;">Let Her Cry</a>, and <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xoW3bqnr7tw&ob=av2e" style="font-style: italic;">Hold My Hand</a>. I have many fond memories associated with all of Hootie's songs. Like driving to college on move-in day and listening to Hootie the whole way. I am excited that my Mom, sister, and one of her friends is coming up for the concert. I am looking forward to sharing this concert with them.<i> </i></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i><br />

They definitely made my day. My Mom and Nana drove up to Charleston on Monday to have lunch with me before I had to jet off to first-year orientation. I have been busy with that for the past two and half days. I have been meaning to sit down and recap my weekend in the country, and just have not had the time for several reasons. One reason I will partial reveal tomorrow! Let's just say for now that y'all should get excited.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Twenty-three was a great year! I grew so much as a person and learned things about myself and others that I never knew before. I made lots new friends {in part to this blog} and reconnected with old friends. I found "my place" in the legal profession. I learned to be single, again. I took a few trips, attended a couple concerts, cheered the Gamecocks to victory, saw it snow twice in SC, soaked up the sun, and started blogging. If twenty-four is anything like twenty-three, I will be a happy girl.</span><br />

As I start my third-year of law school, I will be making the decision to either "start" the <i>real world</i> or go for one more <i>final</i> year of school. Lets be honest, I am leaning towards the latter. I am applying for my LL.M. {law masters} in tax. My top two schools are University of Florida and Georgetown {ah yeah! D.C.!}. Whichever I chose, I will most likely be leaving the comfort of Charleston by this time next year and uncertain for most of the year where I will be moving. Wish me luck as I begin another trip around the sun!</span><br />

This week has gone by way too fast. I only have one week until school starts back in full force, and I am NOT ready. Ordering books the other day was depressing.</div><div style="text-align: center;">Alright, enough of my pity-party. I am so nerdy that a week back into school I will be loving it.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">As I mentioned earlier this week, I am heading to the country for the weekend. It is going to be great to get out of town for a few days. Most of us that are going all started law school together in Section C {aka our homeroom}. Our class is divided into three sections of 60 people, and you are with those same 60 people for all classes, lunches, happy hours, and holidays {Thanksgiving, mostly}. These people become more than friends; they are your family for three years.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">I will definitely be "maxing" out summer this weekend. Though I do have one more weekend of true freedom, this weekend will be filled with all things summer is suppose to be. This week's <a href="http://www.longdistanceloving.net/2011/08/fridays-fancies-36.html">Friday Fancies</a> is paying homage to the maxi dress and "maxing" out summer. Head over to {LDL} and tell <a href="http://www.longdistanceloving.net/">{av}</a> what you are fancying this Friday.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.weheartit.com/">via</a></td></tr>
</tbody></table><div style="text-align: center;">I wanted to share some random thoughts and observations I have had this past week...</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>{one}</b></div><div style="text-align: center;">Why do couples flock to the dance floor when the song "Friends in Low Places" comes on? We went to <a href="http://www.redsicehouse.com/">Reds Icehouse</a> this past weekend to see my favorite band, <a href="http://www.homemadewinemusic.com/">Homemade Wine</a>. When they played the first chords of Garth's most famous song, all these couples rushed the dance floor. Many were slow dancing and others were doing a variation of the shag. I found this very odd. Do they not realize the song is about a girl's ex-boyfriend showing up at her wedding to kick her husband's a$$?</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>{two}</b></div><div style="text-align: center;">One of Elizabeth's guy friends flew in from Texas for her birthday. While we were at Reds, he made the comment that all the guys there were dressed the same, i.e. polo, khakis, and loafers. When I say polo is goes beyond the Ralph Lauren brand, it catches all such collared shirts. When I say khakis, I am referring to the style and fabric rather than the color. Loafers are anything from boat shoes to drivers. I have never really given much thought to the seemingly "uniform" of southern gentleman, because it is just the norm. I suppose in certain parts of the country the SG uniform is not as common or widely worn.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>{three}</b></div><div style="text-align: center;">I finally went one weekend this summer without someone I know getting engaged. Don't get me wrong, I am thrilled and excited for everyone of my friends that has gotten engaged this summer, but it is a constant reminder that I am single. Thanks! Yet, again, I am happy being single and were I am at in my life, but still...ya know how it is. Also, all these summer engagements mean summer weddings in 2012. The summer, I will be studying for the bar and won't be able to make it to half of them.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>{four}</b></div><div style="text-align: center;">Early this week, I watched <a href="http://lifeasweknowitmovie.warnerbros.com/dvd/">Life As We Know It</a>. It is a cute movie and if you have seen it, you should. The parents of a precious one-year-old tragically die in a car accident. They leave their daughter to their best friends, who are not married and have had a interesting romantic past. As I was watching the movie, it got me thinking who I would leave my future children to {outside of my family}. Something to ponder.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

We had an open bar and several appetizers. We hung up posters with our monograms for everyone to sign birthday messages on. We even ordered koozies for the special occasion. If you live in the Charleston area and looking for a place to throw a party, I strongly suggest you check out <a href="http://upstairsatmidtown.com/">Upstairs at Midtown</a>. We had plenty of room for our 50 or so guests. They room is equipped with a iPod connection, so you can be your own DJ.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

It is always a busy month filled with lots of fun activities. This year is no exception. My summer is definitely being bookended with two wonderful months {see <a href="http://scsoulshine.blogspot.com/2011/05/hello-may.html">here</a>}.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhl4eLSFKW47IHf92uqdNIuBSZnXdbRqowHTT0npi1TG_O9MEzRfeHz2vCib1Mj14HZhFBz2ZUHMJM32E3TLpy9YyVJLUUBWP3D3WKgGMcSbaHk72ydq4kfrhLLMjtP_4J6hmWmmgpN06T5/s1600/hello+august.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="234" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhl4eLSFKW47IHf92uqdNIuBSZnXdbRqowHTT0npi1TG_O9MEzRfeHz2vCib1Mj14HZhFBz2ZUHMJM32E3TLpy9YyVJLUUBWP3D3WKgGMcSbaHk72ydq4kfrhLLMjtP_4J6hmWmmgpN06T5/s320/hello+august.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">First up, it is <a href="http://dsc.discovery.com/tv/shark-week/">Shark Week</a> and <a href="http://www.amctv.com/movie-event/amc-mob-week">Mob Week</a> {thank goodness for DVR}. I love The Godfather trilogy, even though the third is not that great and therefore will not be played during Mob Week. Shark Week is awesome and got some serious cred after Step Bros.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/aMnnI1DcMfk?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Wednesday of this week marks the {un}official start of the 2011 South Carolina football season. OH Happy Day! Opening day of football season is truly a holiday to me. I <i>cannot</i> wait for September 3rd. I live for Saturdays in the fall.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/fCxluV2Gwl4?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">This coming weekend a few of us from school are heading to a friend's farm for one last getaway before school starts. I use the term "farm" loosely. It is more like a small plantation of sorts. Regardless of what I call it, this weekend will be EPIC.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">THEN! It is my birthday on the 8th, which conveniently falls on the first day of orientation for the newbies at CSOL. I have to be there bright and early. Oh well, I will get to soak up all my birthday day has to offer. I, also, share my birthday with my grandmother.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">As part of mine and my sister's birthday {August 29th}, my mom got us tickets to <a href="http://www.hootie.com/">Hootie and The Blowfish</a> on August 13th. This is their annual <a href="http://www.hootie.com/tour/homegrown.asp">homegrown</a> show on Daniel Island. Part of the proceeds go to buy school supplies for the area schools. Collection bins are also set up outside the concert.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;">On August 15th, I start my last year of law school! I never thought this day would come. It is a bittersweet moment for me. As exciting as graduating will be, I don't want it to come to an end. And being the big nerd that I am, going to Staples/Target to get new pens, planner, notebooks, and post-its is fun to me.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">My parent's 25th wedding anniversary is August 23rd and Ainsley's 17th birthday is August 29th. With everything going on, August is going to fly by, but I am okay with that. Fall is almost here!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Who is ready for football?!</b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><br />

I now have two weeks of summer before classes for the fall start. Gosh! I really don't want to be a 3L. I am just not ready to grow up.<br />
<br />
Speaking of growing up, my birthday is a little more than a week away! Whoot, whoot! Elizabeth's birthday is tomorrow. Having our birthdays so close together, we started brainstorming at the end of June what to do for our birthdays.<br />
<br />
Well, tonight is our joint birthday party at our usual bar, <a href="http://www.midtownbarandgrill.net/">Midtown</a>. We have rented out the <a href="http://upstairsatmidtown.com/">the upstairs</a> and invited our closest 50 or so friends. I am very excited! Both of us have friends coming from out of town. OH! And, did I mention that it is open bar? We have may or may not have ordered koozies for this shindig.<br />
<br />
Right after getting the party details worked out, the next thing we had to plan was our outfits. DUH! I was on the hunt for the perfect royal blue dress {just for you <a href="http://www.longdistanceloving.net/">av</a>}. It was a color I don't have in my closet and thought it would definitely stand out. I found one on sale at <a href="http://www.piperlime.com/">Piperlime</a>. However, the most perfect royal blue dress is the feature of this week's <a href="http://www.longdistanceloving.net/2011/07/fridays-fancies-35.html">Friday's Fancies</a>. This would be my birthday outfit if money was no option<br />
