It is graduation season! Many of you collegians will be graduating this weekend.
Everyone is searching for that perfect graduation present. I personally enjoy just getting money. Somewhat awful right? I love all presents, but money lets me pick my own "gift."
I am one to search high and low for presents. I like pick out things that are specific for that person. Whether it is something that we have shared together or something that "so them." Ever the sentimental gift-giver.
How many of you ordered a college ring or even a high school ring? I ordered both. I wore my high school through my freshman year of college. I got my Carolina ring midway through my junior year and still wear it today. I love the style of our ring - very simple and classic.
So are you looking for that perfect present or know a recent grad or a grad in general and wondering what to get them for their birthday?
How about a school ring plaque?
A local Charleston artist, Marty Murray, started Sports Fan Traditions. He creates replicas of college and university rings.
Several colleges and universities have been approved and others are pending approval. He takes requests for new schools.
I am thinking this would be a great Father's day gift, too.

Rings at my school are a really big deal. Everyone, and I mean everyone, gets theirs when their time comes. I'm counting down the days till I get mine (: And since they're such a big deal they put it on everything. I even bought one of the ring plaques for a friend's grad gift. Great idea!
ReplyDeleteWhat a good idea! I did not get a high school ring, my parents let me pick out my own ring instead (I went with a simple princess cut Citrine which is my birthstone). I love my UVA ring though, it's gold and very classic! I'm the same as you when it comes to gift-giving, I sometimes even will give people gifts way late, because I refuse to buy a gift just for the sake of buying it; I always wait until I find that perfect thing. I also am someone that will buy gifts out of the blue for people if I see something that reminds me of them!
