My thoughts and prayers are with the people of Japan. The true devastation of the earthquake is only now coming to light. I hope the nation of Japan will be able to recovery quickly

Happy Pi Day! To celebrate Pi Day, Heather and I went and got pizza at Your Pie for $3.14. This place is like a Moe's or Subway but for pizza. They even have apples as toppings...interesting, yes!

You will hear no complaining from me that I lost an hour of sleep yesterday. To be honest, I didn't even realize I had lost an hour. I am too excited that there is more daylight coming my way. I don't even mind waking up when it is still dark outside. I will, however, complain about the thin layer of yellow snow (a.k.a. pine pollen) that is starting to cumulate on my car. It means spring has officially sprung.

A few weeks back, I asked everyone to pray for a friend of mine that had been diagnosed with cancer. (here) I am happy to report that Kenzie is now home and has been for the past week or so. She is going to have to come to MUSC once a week for radiation treatments. This will continue for 26 weeks...that is half a year. Saturday, she turned 15 and went for her permit today. Rather than asking for presents for herself, she asked everyone to bring toys that she could take to the children at the hospital. I wish we call could have the heart of a child and see the world through their eyes. Keep up with Kenzie's story at her website.

I am happy and excited to announced that my cousin is expecting! She is due in the middle of October. She will find out in a few weeks what she is having. I am hoping for a little girl, because my little man needs a sister.
He has told me that if it is a girl; he is going to call her Rosie.

Awesome giveaway going on right now...
One of my best blog friends Jana is giving away some nautical earrings from Molly Beads to two lucky ladies. Head over to her blog to check out all things nautical and southern. She finds some of the prettiest nautical themed dresses, jewelry, and decorations.
I believe that is all for this Monday.
Have a great week, friends!
Soulfully,
Ashton
So glad your friend is at home and doing good.. That is awesome that she got toys for the kids...
ReplyDeleteI am so tired of hearing people talk about how they are mad about losing an hour of sleep. You will get the hour back in Fall when it is dark and dreary outside, and summer is over, haha I am pumped for it to be light for a while after I got home!!!

ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear that Kenzie is doing well and can now be at home with her family. It really is amazing how children are some times so much better than adults at really seeing the important things in life.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your VP campaign! - If I could I would totally vote for you! :)
xoxo

That "Your Pie" place sounds like so much fun. I just love places like Moe's, and I think it would be fun tp create your own pizza!
