SB2K11

Oh hello...random post!  Sorry for being so slack this week.  I have been super busy doing nothing this week, and I really have not been able to sit down and blog.  So this might be a little bit of it all this week involved.  Also, I am honored to be guest blogging over at A Life So Lovely.  Rachel does a special piece each Friday on young women who are currently in grad school or who are starting their careers.  Head over there to find out a little bit more about my journey from high school to law school.

1. Lent started on Wednesday.  I am not Catholic, but I practice Lent.  One of my best friends growing up was Catholic.  She was the only one of our friends that was Catholic, so I did Lent with her so she wouldn't be the only one.  Each year I try to give up something that will truly be a sacrifice for me.  This year, I have decided to give up french fries.  This might seem small to some, but I LOVE french fries.  I seriously don't go two days without eating some fries.

2.  Heather and I went to my parents house for two days earlier this week.  We did some shopping in Savannah at Fab'rik.  We had a Groupon for $60 worth of clothes/accessories.  I got a one shoulder green and tan dress perfect for some of my upcoming weddings.  (It is not online so no picture).  The next day we headed over to the island (HHI) for a wine tasting and some JCrew outlet shopping.  We also had a Groupon for the wine tasting. {Confession - If there is a Groupon for it I probably have it.}  We each got four glasses of wine for only $7.  This was definitely more than a tasting.  My favorite was the Pinot Noir.

I got this dress at the J.Crew Outlet.  I fell in love with this dress last year at the regular J.Crew store, but didn't get it.  I was very excited to see it at the Outlet this year.

3.  As I previously mentioned, karaoke has become somewhat of a hobby of mine.  Well, we were back at it again last night.  I see this becoming a weekly thing.  It is so much fun, especially when you have a willing group of friends to participate.

The UT boys singing Rocky Top after Tennessee beat Arkansas last night.
Gregg and I's duet.
These three boys, Nate, Dustin, and Gregg, live across the street from Heather and I.  All five of us are in law school.

4.  I went to Ulta today for some new nail polish.  I came home with like six new colors.  Here are my favorites...

OPI - I Vant To Be A-Lone-Star

Essie - Antique Rose

Essie - Island Hopping

I also picked up some new chapstick.  While I was home, my sister introduced me to EOS chapstick.  In the checkout line, I saw them on the counter and picked up the Honeysuckle Honeydew.

I think it is going to be a new favorite because it is small enough to be portable but big enough that I wouldn't lose it in the bottomless pit that is my purse.

5. I am off to another oyster roast tonight with a close group of friends.  I got none of the school work that I wanted to get done this week. Not sure if that is a fail or a win.  Odds that I will use the next two days to accomplish it...slim to none.

All for now lovelies!  Hope everyone had a wonderful week and will have an even better weekend.  I promise I will be back to my regular posting this week.

Soulfully,
Ashton

  1. I just got the tunic in that same pattern! Love it, it's going to be great when it finally gets warm up here. I also have/love that chapstick. The design of it is so smart so you don't have to stick your finger in it. Have a fabulous weekend!
